The night bird by Brian Freeman: read 10/1/17 – 11/1/17
** spoiler alert ** I am so confused! I have long since been a huge fan of Brian Freemans writing and in particular the Johnathan Stride series. Brian is never afraid to tackle gritty dark subject matter and usually it is executed perfectly. However this novel was just packed full of outlandish and down right ridiculous ideas. The phobia there is such a brilliant idea and with some thought and structure could result in an awesome theme. This felt like extreme phobias & they made zeros sense!

The idea that someone who nearly drowns in a bay due to currents. Then cant drink water or bathe is laughable. No fluids and your dead in days!
The idea of the Cat landlord! Yes that’s not a typo, a CAT landlord? It was at this point I just gave up on this book and the entire concept being written anywhere near a 4/5* read!
